The best summer cocktail you’ve never heard of
Portuguese Daisy
Portugal, of course, is famous for its port, so it’s no surprise that porto has found its way into the country’s signature cocktails.
The Portuguese Daisy is made with 2 ounces of port, 1 ounce of brandy, 1 ounce of lemon juice, ½ teaspoon of superfine sugar, and ½ teaspoon of Grenadine, shaken with ice and strained into a lowball glass.
Try it out at Resto in Lisbon, which provides sweeping views of the city and outdoor drinking in the courtyard.

Rum n' Cream
A strong, sweet tasting cocktail perfect for a night in to kick back and relax.
Ingredients
3 oz Jamaican Rum
3 oz Cream Soda
1 tbsp Mint Leaves
2 slices Lemon
Recipe:
- Finely chop six or seven mint leaves (I used spearmint).
- Then put four cubes of ice in an old-fashioned glass.
- Sprinkle the mint over as you put the ice in so that it's evenly spread out and not floating on the top or crammed at the bottom.
- Measure out a healthy 3oz of Jamaican Rum (I used Captain Morgan's Black Label).
- Top it up with Cream Soda (I used Bickfords for this)
- Add the lemon slices on top. Voila!
